What does principal place of business mean?

Each state defines "principal place of business," but it generally refers to the location where a CPA primarily practices. In many states, this is the office to which the individual is assigned. If a CPA's profile in CPA QualityPro does not include a license matching their indicated principal place of business, mobility determinations will not be available for that person until the missing licensure requirement is resolved.
